What to do with the Gerber prefolds???
I was reading a posting on the Mothering.com discussion boards that I brought back memories. We have all been there. You are pregnant and after a lot of research announce to your family and friends that you are going to cloth diaper your child. Most people think you are slightly looney and patronize you a bit “Oh, the cute first time mom thinking she will cloth diaper. She’ll soon learn…” I know you have been there. However, there will be the friends who want to support you so for your shower gift they give you Gerber prefolds that they bought at Target. Yikes! Now, they just don’t know. They don’t know how far cloth diapering has come and how many choices there are and how many better prefolds are out there.
So, what do you do with these Gerber cloths? You don’t want to return them as that seems unkind (and you don’t have the receipt) and you don’t want them to go to waste. The wonderful ladies over on Mothering started to come up with a list of their uses that I thought was great. Here are some, plus what I have used mine for. What do you do with yours? Let us know…
burb cloth
doubler for overnights
super big breast pad for lactating mom’s overnights
insert for your Swiffer
Chamois for washing the car
changing pad
use two together as a diaper under a strong waterproof cover
dust rag
buy dental clips and use as a bib
tie dye and make into fun place mats or napkins
doll diaper
shred and use to make Mummy costume for Halloween
