Do Mother-ease Diapers never leak?

The Gorgeous Rainbow of Mother-ease Colors

Now that Mother-ease diapers are so much easier to obtain, I decided to try them.  I know that they are a good value in terms of cost and quality.  I love the gorgeous colors and soft terry cloth fabric of the One Size and the fun Eco-themed prints of the Air Flow covers.  I think the fact that the factory in which they are made in Canada is 100% green is inspired (why can’t more businesses make that commitment?)  But what really got me was that I had heard and read from many moms that they never leak.  Comments like this

“I love your cloth diapers! True to your promise, they have NEVER leaked :) ”  - B. Reid – September 9/09

Or this “I use your diapers with my child and they truly are leak-proof. Not one leak to date (even overnight!) and it’s been 3 months!
K. O’Connor – March 24, 2009″

Or, finally, this “Hi, We started using your diapers with our daughter (now 3 1/2 months) immediately after her umbilical cord fell off and we love them.  They are so easy to use and we really were in it from the beginning for the environment, but after talking to our friends I realize how great they work.  We have never had to change her outfit because of it getting dirty from diaper leaks.  NEVER.  For some reason it didn’t dawn on me until then that just like everything else that is designed to be ‘disposable’ disposable diapers would be less effective.  Duh. Thanks so much!”
K. Roaldi – February 9, 2009

So, is it true.  Do they never, ever leak?  What has been your experience?  Let us know.  Is there such a thing as a diaper that never leaks?

I’m pretty late to the conversation, but I babysit a toddler who uses Motherease diapers. For the record, I’ve used a lot of different cloth and disposable diapers and pull-ups many different children including my own.

There’s no such thing as a diaper that NEVER leaks, but the Motherease comes pretty close. It holds at least as much as a good disposable diaper, and way more than any of the other cloth diapers I have experience with. The only time I’ve ever seen one leak has been recently, because the toddler is potty-training and will sometimes stubbornly hold it in ALL DAY (”only mommy takes me potty”) and refuse to either wet her diaper or go on the potty. When she finally lets it go, it will leak a little; but I swear the diaper weighs as much as a quart of milk and her clothes are barely damp.

I’ll be buying Motherease diapers for my next baby. The covers work pretty well for pre-folds without pins, too.
